ZONE DE REPLIS, 2021 – ARTWORK
The Swiss territory is filled with thousands of military
structures; bunkers, tunnels, forts... The concept of
the national reserve as a retreat area dates from the
late 1930s. Having served only slightly, or not at all,
during the Second World War, they have been deployed
at the beginning of the 21st century. The aim of this
project is not to make a didactic inventory of all these
infrastructures, but rather to question the irrationality
of these constructions. The design of the façade, often
expressed in this type of building by trompe l’oeil
and/or camouflaged elements, thus raises particular
attention to the notion of simulacra. The interest of
this project is therefore to conceive the system put in
place as well as the reflection of the war through such
a defense program.
This project has been thought as a photobook of 50
images and has been presented at ECAL (CH) in 2021
